12 февраля 2010 года состоялось открытие XXI Зимних Олимпийских игр в Ванкувере, Канада. Церемония открылась выступлением представителей древнейших канадских этносов, которые исполнили народные танцы. Кроме того, было продемонстрировано масштабное театрализованное действо, построенное на хореографии и световых эффектах. На церемонии пели Брайан Адамс, Нелли Фуртадо и Гару. Появление Гару было важной частью выступления, пел он в конце церемонии, незадолго до зажжения огня, смотрелся Пьер в кадре тоже замечательно. Также напоминаю, что этой зимой Гару принял участие в Les Enfoires, благотворительных французских концертах.

G-Blog 26.01.10 Bonne année à tous! Je vous souhaite plein d'Amour, de Santé et d'Energie. Pour moi c'est un excellent début d'année avec l'équilibre de bonnes valeurs. D'abord en famille, dans la nature québécoise, puis en musique!
Je peux déjà vous assurer que cette année sera sublime. On a fait la pré-prod du "Gentleman's Tour" en début d'année... Wow! et re-Wow!! Quel régal on va se partager! Je ne me suis jamais autant amusé à mettre en scène un spectacle. Le concept gentleman crooner, tout en finesse, c'est tout ce que j'aime. J'ai bien hâte d'avoir vos commentaires, mais déjà les gens de Dolbeau qui ont vu le spectacle avant tout le monde avait l'air conquis. C'est un spectacle qui ne va pas s'arrêter de progresser. Pour toute l'équipe, c'est un cran au-dessus de tout ce qu'on avait fait auparavant. Que du bonheur :-)
Je tiens à vous remercier pour vos voeux. C'est bon de vous savoir présents et c'est un présent de vous savoir bons ;-) Tous ces beaux messages m'ont donné beaucoup d'énergie. Je ne vous cache pas que les vacances ont été bien occupées par la préparation de tout ça. La sortie de l'album a été précipitée et tout s'est enchaîné. Mais j'adore la vie occupée comme ça!
Merci aussi pour vos commentaires sur l'album. Vous savez qu'il y a eu quelques mauvaises critiques, mais ce n'est pas moi que ça va affecter. J'suis tellement fier de ce dernier! Oui c'est un album de reprises, mais ça m'a fait avancer d'une nouvelle façon. Et c'est très bien

First Steps Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec on June 26, 1972, Garou came into the world eight years after the birth of his sister Maryse. Raised on music from the cradle, he trained his ear and developed an uncommon sense of rhythm growing up in a home where family gatherings were always a musical occasion. At the age of three, Garou's parents, aware of his potential, presented their son with a guitar. His father, who played the instrument as a hobby, taught his son a few chords, and Garou immediately demonstrated an innate talent. Two years later, Garou discovered both the piano and the organ. While music has been his life-long love, it was not, ironically, Garou's first career choice. As a child he dreamed of becoming an archaeologist and was fascinated by excavation and the discovery process associated with it. In fact, as an adult, Garou acknowledges that archaeology and music share an important trait: both are linked by a child-like joy in sharing discoveries. "As an artist, you're in constant contact with the child inside you and the child-like fascination with life that makes people want to live. It's the reason I love to sing." The Early Journey In his early teens, Garou was a model student at the Séminaire de Sherbrooke, the private school for boys he attended. However, by the age of 14, his grades plunged and he adopted an attitude of defiance of authority and conformity. His parents and teachers were at a loss to understand.
